What is Re-Roofing?
Re-Roofing is when you replace all of the roof tiles, and/or metal roof sheeting. It’s a completely new roof. (It’s out with the old roof and in with the new roof!) Re-roofing includes carpentry repairs to fix problems e.g. roof sagging. Sometimes the roof structure needs to be re-enforced to improve roof strength.
Usually, you can :
- replace an old tile roof with a new tile roof
- replace an old tile roof with a new metal roof
- replace an old metal roof with a new metal roof
However, replacing an old metal roof with a new tile roof is generally not recommended. This is because metal roofs are lighter and the existing roof frame may not be strong enough to carry the extra weight of a cement tiled roof. We will recommend the best options with these types of re-roofing projects.
How much will it cost to replace the roof?
A typical size roof replacement investment is 2-4% of the total property value. So for a typical Adelaide home the range is $8000 to $17500 ( depending on the size/type of roof). It’s expensive but worthwhile investment in your property. We will provide you with a fixed quote for the work – for your approval before we start.

How to go about re-roofing
We follow a 5-step roof replacement process to ensure your new roof goes up quickly and with the minimum of fuss. Our professionals:
- Carefully remove the old roof tiles/old roof metal sheets. The waste material from old roof placed onto a tarp to be taken to recycling centre.
- Repair and strengthen roof carpentry as required.
- Install the roofing sizalation or roof blanket insulation as required.
- Roof Cladding is installed over the roof frame including valleys, cappings and flashings as needed.
- Clean up ensuring all excess nails, metal filings
