What does a Whirly Bird/ Roof Turbo Vent actually do?
Turbo Vents are roof mounted turbine ventilators are wind driven “fans” that take out hot, polluted and stale air from the roof space. Hot air trapped in the roof space is taken out in “hot” summer months keeping the house cooler; reducing pressure on the air conditioning system.
In winter, the turbo vent removes hot steam from exhaust fans in wet areas.
Turbo vents work around the clock, free! No electricity is required because turbo vents are set in motion by the wind.

Turbo Vents come in a wide range of colours. Extra internal exhaust fans are available. Before you decide on when we start roof ventilation work we will provide you with a quote for the work based upon our visual inspection.

We make sure that the turbo vent is put in a proper place so that it can do its job effectively and is well caulked to keep the roof water tight.
On some metal roofs extra flashing may be required to ensure the remains water proof.
If the building has non-asbestos eaves vents can be mounted into the eaves to maximise the efficiency of the turbo vent.
