What are the signs a tiled roof needs attention and roof restoration should be considered?
Tell tale signs that a tiled roof restoration should be considered include:

How does Peake Roofing and Guttering restore tiled roofs
Roof Restoration can complex and difficult depending on the roof, the steepness, height and design structure of the roof. We follow a 6-step process Roof Restoration Process to restore your roof to its former glory.
- Replace Roof Tiles
Broken tiles are removed and replaced.
- Roof Tiles are professionally cleaned
The roof is cleaned with an industrial grade roof pressure cleaner designed for roof cleaning. This cleans the roof of moss, dirt and other waste so the primers and membranes have a clean surface to bond with.
- Roof Ridge capping repairs
Ridge caps are removed and all the old mortar is scrapped from them. Broken roof ridge caps are replaced. Then the ridge caps are cemented to the roof tiles.
- Ridge capping “pointing”
The caps are then “pointed”. This means a flexible acrylic compound is used on the cement of the roof ridge caps. The compound seals the ridge cap and ensures it is bonded. This compound is flexible and will not crack with normal minor movements of the roof frame.
- Moss / Anti-fungal Roof Barrier
A roof specific anti-fungal solution is applied to the roof tiles to prevent the re-growth of fungus and lichen.
- Roofing Membrane Application
A primer coating is applied to the roof. Followed by an additional two (2) coats of the roof membrane. We prefer the Acryloc and the Dulux range of roof membranes. This membrane is available in a range of colors to meet your preference. Heat reflective paints/membranes are available.
